System Wiring Suggestions

We have made the lists below to try and help you easily select the most appropriate model/models to add to your existing system or to build a new one and ensure you get the best performance from your Merlin Cables System with the very best value for money at all times.

If you follow the systems as step by step changes/upgrades you will always be spending the correct amount of money on each wire and seeing the largest improvements. Obviously there are so many variables we cant possibly cover all options and these are only a couple of simple solutions but should give you an idea of what we think is the best method wiring using our cables.

Mains Cables

These solutions are for a system where a mains block is required as there are not sufficient wall sockets to power all components:

If you do not need a Mains Block and you DO have sufficient wall sockets to power all your components, for example a double wall socket provision to power just a CD+AMP we suggest you simply buy the best quality mains cables you can afford for both pieces and run them direct from the wall socket. If you cannot afford to use the same cable on both components we generally suggest you place your best quality cable on your source component. We do not believe you should add a mains block where it is not required and feel the mains cables used are more important.

If you have 2 interconnects in the signal path for example a CD+PRE AMP+POWER AMP or TURNTABLE+PHONO STAGE+AMP then you just stagger the interconnect changes placing the better of the 2 cables at the front of the signal path which is on your source component.

We would suggest that if you have Bi-Wire speakers that you substitute IRC6 Speaker cable for C12 Speaker cable terminated for Bi-Wiring we have found this configuration to perform a little better for similar money but this does vary depending on the speakers.
