Frequently Asked Questions

These are a selection of the most frequently asked questions we receive, to help inform you a little more about our products and services we have decided to list them for everyone to view.

If you cant see your question listed below you can submit a message on the contact page. You may also call the sales line for any enquiry 9am-6pm Monday-Friday.

Question: Are your interconnects supplied as pairs? The Picture only shows one cable.

Answer: An interconnect or speaker cable will always be supplied to complete a job. A stereo anlalogue interconnect will usually be 2 individual cables to complete a task so that is what we supply. If it has a stereo plug on it such as a DIN or 3.5mm Jack then it will be supplied as one cable. Speaker cables will always be 2 cables unless stated as a MONO run. We only show one cable in all the images so you can see as clearly as possible what the cable you are purchasing looks like.

Question: Are your cables directional?

Answer: Most of our cables are fitted with a fully active screen so this means they will only work correctly the right way round. You can find a direction arrow located on the name label, the direction of the arrow should always be pointing in the direction of the signal path. For example CD -> Amp / Pre-Amp -> Power Amp / Amp -> Speakers. Cables which are not screened tend to work better in one direction after a large amount of use so we always suggest that you always use any cable in the same direction, if no arrows are visable on your cable then we suggest having the printed writing on the cable reading correctly in the direction of the signal.

Question: What is cable demagnetisation?

Answer: We use the award winning Furutech DEMAG machine which helps keep interconnect cables, connectors and power cords demagnetised to prevent magnetic signal distortion. This is very noticable once you take it away! We provide this treatment service when you purchase any product from us but you may also return products in the future to be re-treated to maximise performance.

Question: What are Caig Treatments?

Answer: Caig is just one of the solutions we use to improve contact quality on our products. The Caig Deox-it is a cleaning detergent that removes machine grime from production as well as oxidisation built up on plugs over a period of time. By the time a plug is fitted to a new cable it has most likely even if new itself been sitting around for a long time since production, Caig Deoxit returns this plug or a well used one back to its original clean state for a reliable contact.

Question: What other cable treatments are available?

Answer: We can also treat our cables with anti-static solutions to remove existing static and prevent a future build up for a limited period. We also have Caig Progold, Furutech Nano Liquid and Walker SST/ESST which are all compounds and solutions containing gold and silver to enhance the connection quality, please call us or see the accessory page for details.

Question: Do i get the same prices for ordering on the phone?

Answer: Yes. We can however be a little more flexible on shipping charges and larger package deals, if you would like to check if your order qualifies please give us a call.

Question: The website calculated a very high carriage fee, is this correct?

Answer: No, it should not be. Our carriage should be approx £4 for a single item and approx £5-6 for more than one. If you feel the website has calculated a carriage charge that is too high please call us and we will most likely be able to adjust this for you. The Website is supposed to calculate its shipping charges based on total weight but it does sometimes get it wrong!
